AI researchers have adapted and integrated a wide range of problem-solving techniques, including search and mathematical optimization, formal logic, artificial neural networks, and methods based on statistics, operations research, and economics.AI also draws upon , linguistics, philosophy, psychology ,psycholinguistics, neuroscience and many other medical, physical science fields.
According to the current system of classification, there are four primary AI types: reactive, limited memory, theory of mind, and self-aware.

The phrase artificial intelligence was created by John McCarthy, who also hosted the first AI conference.
1950
Turning Test: Alan turning published his paper on Computing Machinery and Intelligence titled the turning test", a proposal that examined a machine's capacity to think like human.
1955-56
Birth Of AI: A proposal was generated by Jhon McCarthy and his team for holding an "AI" workshop. After the workshop, the team AI officially took birth in 1956.
1961
Unimate: In this year, a 1950s industrial robot Unimate, which was created by George Devol, emerged as the first to perform on New Jersey's General Motors assembly line.
1964
Eliza: a natural language processing computer program, developed by MIT professor Joseph Weizenbaum and it is engagged in conversation with humans.
1996
Shacky: This was the year that kickstarted the project of creating the first mobile robot, Shacky.
1999
AIBO: Sony debuted AIBO (Artifitial Intelligence Robot), which was designed for learning through interaction with its environment and human owners.
2002
Roomba: The popular Roomba was released by i-robot, which was an autonomous robot vacuum cleaner that cleans while dodging hurdles.
2011
Siri: Apple released Siri, a build-in voice controlled personal assistance, available for Apple Users.
2016
Sophia: Hansan Robotics developed humanoid robot Sophia pegged to be the first "robot citizen".
2021
OpenAI developed DALL-E, which can process and understand images enough to produce accurate captions, moving AI one step closer to understanding the visual world.
